Virtual Machines

Current VM coverage for the amd64 Nulx beta.

Current test scope

The release notes will identify the exact tested image and environments. Shared drivers do not establish support for an untested hypervisor.

  • Hyper-V Generation 2: an earlier clean-install and direct-boot baseline passed.
  • VirtualBox: focused live-session desktop and package tests passed. Final installation and stability checks remain.
  • QEMU/KVM: earlier live-runtime evidence exists. Final installation acceptance remains.
  • Proxmox and VMware: no verified installation result. Neither is part of the current two-host beta acceptance target.

Firmware and resources

Development testing uses x86-64 UEFI machines with four virtual CPUs, 8 GB RAM and an 80 GB disk. Final requirements depend on the complete package set. Secure Boot is not yet approved for release.

ARM64

A separate ARM64 edition is planned after the amd64 beta. There is no ARM64 image today.

Host integration

Use an empty virtual disk. Treat clipboard sharing, shared folders and guest-agent access as explicit trust decisions.
